About this session

About this site tour

The first Zoku opened in the heart of Amsterdam’s eastern Canal District in May 2016, transforming an existing office building into a thriving neighbourhood. Located on Weesperstraat, an arterial road and part ofAmsterdam’s Knowledge Mile, Zoku is easily accessible by car and is only a 3-minute walk away from public transport hubs (metro, tram and bus). It’s close to all the important business and leisure areas in town and many important educational institutes, as well as to culture, shops and entertainment.

Rooftop Social Spaces

Zoku Amsterdam’s Social Spaces are designed to facilitate effortless connections. The Social Spaces offer a warm welcome, a buzzing bar, a Living Room, a Living Kitchen, communal working spaces and the Almost-Everything Store providing daily essentials, tailored to cater to all the social and practical needs of Zoku’s international mix of residents and locals. And do note the Greenhouse and rooftop garden when you arrive, where vegetables and herbs are grown and used to cook from Zoku's very own kitchen.

The Kindred Spirits Bar is the place to go for an energising coffee, a beer or a break. The Living Room is a comfortable, homey space designed for leisure and small gatherings – as well as facilitating effortless connections between like-minded individuals from all over the world. Find an easy-going but hard-working atmosphere in Zoku's vibrant, collaborative coworking space.

The Zoku Loft

Bye-bye traditional hotel rooms. Introducing the Zoku Loft: a spacious micro apartment designed for living comfortably and working efficiently. In a regular hotel room or studio apartment, the bed always dominates. In the Zoku Loft, the big kitchen table serves as a focal point, shifting the centre of the space from the bed to the living room. Now you have a truly livable home to explore Amsterdam and work abroad for as long as you want.

Zoku’s vision is to create the world’s most desirable home base, where people and ideas can connect and grow. By combining the best features of hotels, homes and coworking spaces in a smart and thoughtful way, Zoku delivers exactly what today’s travelling professionals need: A vibrant home base to live and work in a city for a few days to a few months, and a relaxed place to socialise with like-minded locals and guests from around the world.

Community

When living and working abroad, digital nomads are surrounded by the ‘exotic’, yet can often feel bored, lonely and uninspired. Hotels are interesting places: they're gathering grounds for international talent, but until now this has not yet been used as an advantage. Zoku believes that “amazing things can happen when people come together”. Its mission is to mix together like-minded individuals under one roof – aligning its international residents with internationally minded locals to give digital nomads a local social life.

Zoku expanded the definition of a hotel into a platform where knowledge, ideas and people can mingle on a daily basis. Zoku’s Community Managers are dedicated to grounding residents locally as well as connecting them through social community rituals and regular inspiring events.
